Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka from Minsk (the capital of Belarus), is the child of Sergey. Sergey (d.2019) played ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. She has 12 WTA titles to her name in her career, including her Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is her forte and she has also won Majors in the US Open (2019) and Australian Open (2021), each of them together with Elise Mertens. It was the Sunshine Double was achieved by Elise and her in the year the year 2019. Together, they won WTA 1000s in Indian Wells & Miami. Four couples only managed to achieve this feat in women's doubles. In January of 2023 she reached her highest ranking in singles. On 23rd August 2021, she rose to the second spot in the World rankings. As a doubles player, she was able to propel her way to the top in February of the same year following her victory in Melbourne making her the second tennis player born in Belarus to make it in this specialty. Her coach was the former Russian tennis player Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the 2019 season and partly at the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach for a short time in August of 2020 until September. Antonio Dubrov is her coach who has been with her since the start of 2020. Her top idols are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
